Now call me crazy, but why are
we called “Coaches” when most of the “coaches” state they do not have
the “answer”, they have the “questions” to make the answer come from
within you.
Let me use this very simple example.
In the national sports scene, the “Coaches”
have the plan or at least they are expected to implement a plan to see
success for their team.
In my 45 years I have witnessed numerous
times when a team loses big, like the Dolphins in the NFL with a losing
record of 1-15, it’s the coaches that got fired, not the players.
I can see it now - Coach Belichick and Tom Brady of
the New England Patriots on the sidelines and Coach Belichick starts
with questions and after Tom answers the questions,
Coach Belichick asks even more
questions, and then he turns and walks away.
Tom Brady calls out, “Coach, what are we
going to do?”
Coach Belichick states, “The answer is
within you.”
Better yet,
picture this, Coach Belichick is in a team meeting and while the team is
together all he does is ask questions hoping to bring out the best in
the players.
No direction, no game plan, no clarity.
And after all the questioning, he states
“The coaching staff is here only to ask questions, the answer to how to
win this game is within you.”
We all know this doesn’t happen, so why would this
work for other professionals?
I believe a professional coaching staff fully utilizes
the latest technologies in winning the mind game, computers, software
and telecommunications to increase the players’ (or maybe you, in this
case) speed and efficiency.
To me, coaches are expected to
bring knowledge and resources to the table to stay at the top of their
professional game.
Of course, there is no one size fits all.
Coaches are pulling the best from their
players (or you, in this case), properly training them, treating them
well, and giving them the space to express their true talents and
accelerate achievements.
Now call me crazy, but what you may have
with your “Success Coach” is nothing more then a “nagging wife.”
Save the money and empower your wife to
remind you of the commitments you decide on.
The method of coaching that I
prefer is “Success is a learnable skill,” and “Happiness is a learnable
skill.” So
with my understanding of this, I teach and help people to learn how to
achieve their goals by utilizing the latest technologies in computers,
software and telecommunications to increase their speed and efficiency.
Use other people’s talents, skills,
contacts, credibility, and resources, to help improve the quality of
life. This
is no time to reinvent the wheel.
I hear your question, “What do you mean?”
Did you invent the telephone,
or are you using the talents, skill, contacts, credibility, and
resources of someone else’s efforts every time you use the telephone.
Are you using the talents, skill, contacts,
credibility, and resources of others?
With the right Coach, it is
that simple.
If you know how to do something very well,
you should be able to explain it to a five year old child.
That simple!
